- 256KBytes or 512KBytes of Flash
- 64 KBytes or 128 KBytes of RAM
- Real-time Clock
- 16-channel, 10-bit ADC
- Five 16-bit timers with five input captures
- Five PWM outputs
- USB interface with Host, Device, and On-The-Go modes
- Six UARTs
- Five I2C
- Four SPI
- Two Analog Comparators
- Pin compatible with existing PIC32 and 16-bit PIC24F USB microcontroller families.
Microchip PIC32 MX6 Embedded Ethernet Family and Microchip PIC32 MX7 Family
The integrated 10/100 Mbits/sec Ethernet MAC found on the new Microchip PIC32 MX6 Family uses the industry-standard RMII/MIII interface to an external Physical Interface chip (PHYs). Also, each Microchip PIC32 MX6 is factory programmed with a unique and registered Ethernet MAC address for ease of application configuration.
Microchip PIC32 MX5 CAN Family and Microchip PIC32 MX7 Family
The Microchip PIC32 MX5 Family microcontrollers feature CAN2.0b interfaces. These CAN interfaces access the available RAM to store up to 1024 CAN messages in 32 buffers. Advanced filtering capabilities provide user selectable filter-to-buffer mapping with up to 32 filters and 4 filter masks.
Microchip PIC32 MX7 Family
The Microchip PIC32 MX7 Family includes two CAN2.0b interfaces and one 10/100 Mbits/sec Ethernet MAC.
Available TCP/IP and USB Software Stacks
Microchip provides two free TCP/IP stacks, as well as free USB Host and Device libraries, for the PIC32 family. Each include full source code and documentation. Other free software available from Microchip include Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), different file systems, advanced graphics libraries, and audio libraries.
TCP/IP stacks are also available from CMX.
The new PIC32 devices are supported by new development tools. Ethernet development is supported by a new Ethernet Starter Kit. USB development is supported by the PIC32 USB Starter Kit II, which is an upgrade of Microchip's existing USB starter kit.
Pricing & Availability
The three new Microchip PIC32MX5/6/7 families are available today for sampling and volume production. 10,000 unit pricing ranges from $4.73 each for the PIC32MX575F256H, up to $6.55 each for the PIC32MX795F512L. Packaging options include 100-pin TQFP and BGA packages, and 64-pin TQFP and QFN packages.
