The various important terms related to the radiation are,
1. Radiant Flux: It gives the number of joules per second or the power in watts of
the light beam. It can be obtained if number of photons per second striking the surface and energy of each photon in joules is known.
2. Irradiation: It is the total radiant power density incident on the receiving
surface. It is measured in mW/cm
3. Illumination: It is based on the ability of the human eye to see the different
wavelengths of light.
4. Luminosity Curve light:
It is the graph of relative response against the wavelength of light. The Fig. 4.6
shows the luminosity curve of a human eye and is called standard luminosity curve.
